Oshkosh Corp. scales back on job cuts
The Oshkosh Corp. is still planning to trim its workforce, but not as many people will lose their job.
John Casper of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce says the company initially planned to cut 450 jobs. He says thanks to retirements and attrition, they're reducing the toal to 300.
Casper says the company is still the city's largest employer with about 4,000 workers. He says the Oshkosh Corp. is healthy, and its stock responded to a positive fourth quarter of last year.
The job cuts are in response to a decline in military spending. They'll take effect February 1.
