Volunteers conduct homeless count
The snow forced groups to cancel events and meetings last night, but advocates for the homeless say the weather made it even more important to conduct their bi-annual "Point in Time" count of the homeless in the Fox Valley.
Chris Lashock of the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley says there wasn't a question of whether they would postpone the census.
He says they did find two people sleeping in cars, and that's not acceptable. Lashock says volunteers were able to help them.
Dozens of people helped with the count, including Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna.
