High court could hear mascot case
The battle over school mascots could go to the state Supreme Court.
Two parents from the Mukwonago school district, in southeast Wisconsin, are asking justices to take up their case.
The department of public instruction ordered the district to drop its Indians nickname and logo, and the parents sued. A circuit court judge blocked the order, but a state appeals court sided with the state agency last month.
The attorney for the parents, Samuel Hall, argues the state's mascot law is unconstitutional.
The case would also impact the court fight over Berlin high school's Indians nickname.
