Suspect in double murder awaits trial in Okla.

A potential suspect in a Weyauwega double murder is facing rape and murder charges in Oklahoma.

Waupaca County Sheriff Brad Hardell says 41-year-old Glendon Gouker is a "person of interest" in the 1992 murders of 23-year-old Tanna Togstad and 35-year-old Tim Mumbre.

Gouker is awaiting trial in Oklahoma, for sexually assaulting a young woman and killing her 19-year-old boyfriend.

Prosecutors in Wisconsin are charging him with raping a woman at a park in Iola, in 1990. Hardell says they linked Gouker to that cold case, using DNA evidence.

Gouker used to live in Montello and Iola.

TV anchor Jeff Thelen of WSAW in Wausau was a reporter in Waupaca at the time of the double murder, in Weyauwega. He says because murders rarely happen in the Weyauwega area, the community was scared.
