Carbon monoxide blamed for shanty death

Authorities say a Chilton woman who was found dead in an ice shanty on Lake Winnebago over the weekend, died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

30-year-old Sara Meyer was with 37-year-old Travis Duchow of Chilton, on Saturday afternoon. Duchow was flown to a hospital, by helicopter, and his condition hasn't been released.

The Calumet County sheriff's department says investigators are still working on the case, but they don't suspect foul play.

Authorities are urging people to be careful when they're heating their fishing shanties. They say they need to make sure their equipment is in good working order, and it's vented properly.
