State has lagged in job creation for years
Figures that show the state is trailing the nation in job growth aren't anything new. That's according to a study by the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance.
President Todd Berry says the population of working-age adults is climbing at a slower rate than the national average, and the number of new businesses is lagging behind.
Berry says there is a silver lining to the figures on start-up companies -- Wisconsin companies have a better long-term success rate.
Berry says wages in Wisconsin are also below the national average, but that's been the case for over 30 years.
