Group: Plans needed for Alzheimer's increase
Experts say the number of cases of Alzheimer's disease in the U.S. will nearly triple by 2050, and that could break the back of the health care industry, unless there's a shift in how the disease is handled.
Kathleen Albert is an outreach specialist for the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Wisconsin. She says families will likely have to take a greater role as caregivers.
Albert says those caregivers would likely experience added stress, so the country would need more trained professionals to help them deal with it.
She says state and federal officials need to act now.
