Capitol protests have lingering impact
Two years ago today, the massive protests over Governor Walker's collective bargaining proposal started at the state Capitol, and the head of a government watchdog group says they left their mark.
Jay Heck of Common Cause says rules put in place in the Assembly and Senate chambers now ban people from brining in signs, taking notes, or even talking. People also now need a permit if they want to protest.
The protests made getting work done in the Capitol very difficult, but Heck says the new rules go to far.
Heck hopes lawmakers relax those rules once memories of the demonstrations fade.
