Events in sky not visible in Fox Cities
First a meteor caused damage in Russia, and this afternoon,
a large asteroid flew by the Earth, but people in the Fox Cities couldn't catch a glimpse of them, by looking to the sky.
Andy Peche is the director of the Barlow Planetarium at UW-Fox Valley. He says when the meteor entered the atmosphere in Russia, it caused quite a light show.
Peche says the asteroid passed the Earth earlier this afternoon. He says they've known it was coming, for about a year. He says it came closer to the Earth than any other in history.
He says the two space incidents are not connected.
