Harrison referendum set for tomorrow
There's a proposal to turn an area of the town of Harrison into a village, and voters will get their say tomorrow.
Only people who live inside the potential village borders will be able to vote in the referendum.
Town administrator Travis Parish says they already have police and fire services, and sewer and water, in that part of the town, and the state determined that it already acts like a village.
He says if the area became a village, neighboring communities wouldn't be able to annex properties, and weaken the tax base. He says some people are also talking about the need to protect Harrison's identity.
