Voter turnout in Appleton disappoints
Voter turnout in the city of Appleton was below
expectations, at just over eight percent.
City Clerk Char Peterson says there were two likely factors -- the weather, and the lack of races on the primary ballot.
Peterson says some people are also likely experiencing "voter fatigue" after last year.
Peterson says hopefully turnout will be much better on April 2, because local elections are very important. She says people usually have to turn to their local officials first, when there's an issue.
