Bill would lift ban on driverless cars
A proposal would open the door for driverless vehicles on Wisconsin roads.
Sen. Fred Risser of Madison says companies are researching technology that would allow vehicles to drive themselves, but right now, they're banned in the state. He says it's quite an innovation, and it's possible the future will go that way.
The Madison Democrat says if lawmakers take action, researchers might consider moving to Wisconsin. He says three other states -- California, Nevada, and Florida -- already allow driverless vehicles.
Risser is seeking co-sponsors for his bill.
