Snowmobile fatalites climb to 14
Fatalities on Wisconsin snowmobile trails are up, compared to last winter, but they're still below the five-year average.
Authorities say 14 people have died already this season, and alcohol played a significant role in 11 of them. DNR snowmobile program administrator Gary Eddy says that's four more fatalities than all of last season, but warm weather cut that season very short.
Eddy says he expects to see more fatalities on snowmobile trails this winter, because recent snowfalls could extend the season into March.
