Appleton schools starting 4K registration

Registration opens tomorrow for Appleton's new four-year-old kindergarten program.

4-K coordinator Suzette Preston says the first registration event is at the Appleton public library from 9-30 until noon tomorrow. There are six other registration opportunities over the next week at the library, and four Appleton middle schools.

Preston says kids have to be four years old by September 1st to enroll. She says they'll learn a lot, while having fun.

Preston says the kids will grow their social, emotional and physical skills, and start on the road toward literacy.  She says the school district has room for about 1,000 4-K students.
