Xavier competing in state mock trial competition

Appleton Xavier high school's mock trial team is headed to the state competition again this year.

The school is one of 12 to advance to Sunday's semifinals in Madison. The top two teams will meet in the final round on Monday, in front of the state Supreme Court. Senior co-captain Grace Flaherty says they'll try the same case.

Xavier is the two-time defending state champion. The winner will move on to nationals, in Indianapolis, in May.

Xavier finished 32 at nationals last year, and seventh, in 2011.
