Outagamie Co., Appleton partner on investigations
Since the beginning of the year, the Outagamie County sheriff's department and Appleton police have been joining forces on drug and gang investigations.
Appleton Police Sgt. Dave Lund says two Outagamie County deputies, and two Appleton officers, are working together full time to address their shared problems, like gangs, drugs, and violent crime.
Lund says the partnership helped lead to the bust of a marijuana growing operation last week in Appleton. He says it's easier to conduct an investigation when you can easily cross into neighboring communities.
Lund says over the past couple of months, the partnership has worked quite well.
