Sequestration cuts impact farmers
Farmers could have a more difficult time deciding what crops to plant this spring, thanks to the sequestration cuts.
The USDA will eliminate some commodity supply reports. Outagamie County UW-Extension ag agent Kevin Jarek says farmers rely on the numbers, and the move could impact everything from corn to milk prices.
Jarek says without the reports, farmers would have to make "blind" decisions. He says that could lead to tighter-than-normal supplies for some commodities, and a surplus for others.
