Local leaders hope girls state tourney stays
The girls state basketball tournament tipped off in
Green Bay for the first time yesterday.
Local tourism officials hope to keep the event at the Resch Center, after the initial two-year agreement with the WIAA ends.
Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau president Brad Toll says a lot of planning went into the games, and right now they're doing their best to impress the fans and WIAA officials.
Toll says hosting the tournament means a lot to the community, and it's expected to add about $3 million to the local economy.
