Raw milk issue back at Capitol
The raw milk debate is coming back to the state Legislature.
During the last session, a bill to let farmers sell unpasteurized milk died in committee, and Republican Sen. Glenn Grothman of West Bend is reviving it. He says raw milk is safe, and it has many health benefits.
The Wisconsin Safe Milk Coalition opposes the bill. Spokesman Shawn Pfaff says there's no way to make unpasteurized milk safe.
Even though the last raw milk bill didn't come up for a vote on the Senate floor, it generated plenty of debate.
