Stretch of Hwy. 41 North to close for weekend

The northbound lanes of a portion of Highway 41 in Brown County are closing this weekend, so construction workers can remove an obstruction 28 feet below the road.

Highway 41 construction chief Brian Roper says crews were installing a sanitary sewer when they ran into the problem, and they need to close the highway to get to it.

He says the northbound lanes will be closed between Shawano Avenue and Velp Avenue from Friday at 8 p.m., until 5 a.m. Monday. Roper says they have a couple of detour routes.

He says they decided to do the project over the weekend to avoid conflicts with other projects, and because there will be less traffic than during the work week.

The southbound lanes of Highway 41 will remain open all weekend.
