FAA cuts Wittman air traffic controllers

The tower at Wittman Regional Airport won't have air traffic controllers anymore.

The FAA released its final list of nearly 150 airports across the country that will lose their staff, because of the sequestration cuts.

Airport director Peter Moll that means pilots will have to clearly state their intentions, over the radio, when they're taking off and landing at the airport, or flying nearby. He says they're still not sure what will happen during the annual EAA AirVenture, when the airport is the busiest one in the world.

The cuts will start taking effect early next month. A number of other Wisconsin airports are losing their controllers, including Kenosha and La Crosse.
