Did you hear about the kid who tossed a grenade at school?

Thursday, Feb, 7 2013

It's true.

This is a story I'll talk about on the Thursday PhilCast.

A young boy throws a grenade in a classroom.

He was suspended of course.

No one was injured.
Why?

Because it was a PRETEND grenade.

These stories about no-tolerance policies at schools have no end it seems. When does the madness stop?

I'll have more Thursday afternoon.

Weigh-In Wednesday; Week 5

Wednesday, Feb, 6 2013

Time for our once-a-week visit with Mr. Scale today on "Weigh-In Wednesday" on the PhilCast.

If you are playing along at home make sure to drop me an email with your update.

As usual today, following my report I've got a couple of health/weight-related stories to share as well.

One of them has to do with a few simple recommendations from a doctor in terms of every day eating habits as it concerns dieting.

Guy sees Jesus on a beer case

Tuesday, Feb, 5 2013

Dude says he sees Jesus on a hunk of cardboard he found while out on a walk.

I don't see it.

You?

Yes, I'm sure HE would visit in the form of a smudge on the back of a case of Corona.

Most-watched Super Bowl ever

Monday, Feb, 4 2013

Turns out last night's power-outage Super Bowl was the most-watched ever.
After a slow start the game had a little bit of everything, including the most important thing I think....a close finish where one 4th-down play would determine the outcome right at the end of the game.
That's good stuff.

There's a lot of buzz about Beyonce at halftime and the 'show' she put on.

But for my money the class entertainment act of the night came from her...Jennifer Hudson singing 'America The Beautiful' with the Sandy Hook Choir.

It was a beautiful, touching moment.
No lasers.
No flash pods.
No half-naked dancing.
No screaming.
Just singing. Meaningful singing.

As for the much-talked-about ads, there was only one that hit home with me all night long.

We'll discuss to kick off the Monday PhilCast.

Stupid groundhog

Friday, Feb, 1 2013

Groundhog Day falls on a Saturday this year, so today on the PhilCast I'll have to play some traditional audio...at least the crowd chants 'Phil' in P.A.

I believe the little guy is going to see his shadow tomorrow, meaning six more weeks of winter. Isn't that usually the case around here regardless?
