So long snugglers

Monday, Dec, 9 2013

I never even got the chance to get a snuggle.

Yes it's true.

The Snuggle House in Madison is no more.

They have announced that the doors to snuggle heaven have been shut for good.

So much for preferred spooning. Not gonna happen for a price here.

I guess it was fun while it lasted. But I'll get one final poke at the carcass on today's PhilCast after Pack Yak.

Careful where you plug in

Thursday, Dec, 5 2013

IF electric cars do become more and more prevalent out there on the road, we better watch out for exactly where we plug them in.

I have an interesting story coming up on the Thursday PhilCast about a guy who got in trouble for plugging in his electric car for a quick charge at the building where he was picking up his kid.

The guy ends up in jail for a time because he used what amounted to about five cents worth of electricity.

Ouch.

We'll discuss.

Wed.= Artsy Fartsy

Wednesday, Dec, 4 2013

'Tis the season, for all kinds of local productions celebrating this special time of year.

The PhilCast goes "Artsy Fartsy" as I call it from 4:30 until 5:00 today with a little taste and a preview of a couple of shows.

Here we were last year with my friends at the Markaroff Youth Ballet.

They're back today to lead off the segment at 4:30-ish talking about this weekend's holiday performance.

CLICK HERE for more info about it.

Then after that, some first-timers on the PhilCast.

The Appleton Boy Choir drops by to promote its holiday concert as well.

This season they are celebrating 35 years of performing in our area.

So get ready to get into the spirit this afternoon on the PhilCast.

And if you have a chance (I know, everyone is soooo busy for the next few weeks) take time out from the hectic schedule to just enjoy and support the local young people giving it their all to bring smiles to our faces this time of year.

"Fitz" visits the PhilCast today

Tuesday, Dec, 3 2013

Boy, he's gotten big!

One year ago when Molly Johnson came in to the PhilCast studio to talk about Compassionate Canines she brought along a squirmy little puppy hoping to some day become a therapy dog.

Well, here's Fitz today.

He's stopping by with Molly to talk all about the therapy dog world.

We'll see how he's done. One thing's for sure; he has grown quite a bit since our last visit.

Our chat after the 3:30 news Tuesday.

What's that I hear?

Time for Christmas music on the PhilCast!
The new week means that the countdown to Christmas on the PhilCast is on.

--Short "Pack Yak" with Rich Ratay to open things up Monday. A half hour of sorting out the mess should be plenty of time for us.

--Thanksgiving review next. I've got stories, including a dandy from the theater on Saturday night.

--4:10 "The Buzzer", Maureen Wallenfang of the Post-Crescent joins me to talk all things shopping. Did you know something interesting happened in terms of our shopping patterns over the holiday weekend? I've got the magic stat from Black Friday to lay on the Buzz.

Finally...a picture from a PhilCast Family member....

Phil,
You asked for people to send pics of their deer.  I got an 8 pointer at 11am on 11/24 in Beecher, WI.

Rob Wartick from Appleton.

Well done sir!

And with that, another deer hunting season comes to a close...a successful Thanksgiving is behind us and it's time to bring on Christmas and the nasty elf machine!
