We need a new name for today

Monday, Nov, 26 2012

It's "Cyber Monday". I said it last year and I will say it again this year while we still have a Cyber Monday...the term is outdated and we need a new name for this day.

Better yet, just dump it.
It makes no sense.

Cyber Monday was born back in the days when not everyone had a computer in their homes, let alone computers in their hands posing as cell phones.

Back then you had to wait until Monday to use the company's computer to shop instead of work.
It's ridiculous to call it Cyber Monday now based on those origins.

And in fact, I have a story today about how this post-Thanksgiving Monday is going to soon be surpassed by another even bigger on-line shopping day. We'll discuss.

Oh yeah, Pack Yak and that excuse for a football game to go over in the first hour of the PhilCast today with Rich Ratay.
I know it was bad.
I know it was ugly.
I know it will be difficult to narrow this down to just one thing that really bothered you from last night. But I have one thing that really got under my skin. You'll be surprised at what it is too.

It's a Thanksgiving TV dinner on steroids!

Wednesday, Nov, 21 2012

It's a special "Thanksgiving Eve" PhilCast today as we prepare for my favorite holiday of the year.

I'll be heavy on Thanksgiving-related stories today, and we'll share some Thanksgiving memories.

One of the stories on the docket is this giant TV dinner being offered up this year.

Come on man, that's just wrong.

Don't waste all those turkey leftovers!

Tuesday, Nov, 20 2012

I've got a story coming up on the Tuesday PhilCast about just how much food we'll be throwing away this Thanksgiving. It's a HUGE eye-opening number.

Talk about waste.

Don't toss it. USE it. And after the 4:30 news today our friend Oz from Emerald City Catering, a sponsor of the 'Listen-Live' internet streaming version of the show will join us with ideas on how to use those leftovers.

I've also got some info on eating strategies for Thursday, like I need a strategy to eat on Thanksgiving!

It's "Turkey Talk" today on the PhilCast from 4:30 to 5:00.

Somebody get that man a shrink!

Monday, Nov, 19 2012

It's not his leg.

Lets face it, Mason Crosby of the Packers is kicking with the same leg he used to routinely boot 50-yard or longer field goals with regularity in the past.

His head is messed up.

He's thinking about it too much now, and who could blame him?

Ever wake up in the middle of night and then just keep telling yourself to fall back asleep? Doesn't work because you're working too hard at it.

Same deal here.

It's in his head now. Pull the first try to the right, then after the time-out pull the next try to the left. Classic head games.

The thing is, there is really no cure for this. Eventually it will all go away after he hits a couple in a row and gets his groove on once again. I believe that will happen. It's just a matter of when. Hurry it up Mason, so we can stop calling you Missin' Crosby.

Pack Yak on the PhilCast today 3-4 with Rich Ratay. Talk to you then.
