The PhilCast goes to Italy!

Monday, Sep, 15 2014

CLICK HERE to see more info about next year's "Festa Cianciola" PhilCast listener trip.

We announced the trip on the Monday show. If you missed it, please listen to the podcast of that segment with Fox World Travel and my new friend Rudy from Milan who visited the studio as well. CLICK HERE to listen to our conversation.

I'll be writing more and posting more about this each and every month as we count down to this incredible trip.

Meantime, save the date to visit with us at our informational meeting coming up on Monday, Oct. 6th in Appleton. Details at the trip link I posted earlier.

....I can taste it already!

Cornerstolen?

Wednesday, Sep, 10 2014

It still bothers me that an historic building like this has been reduced to rubble in Menasha.

I like cool, old, character buildings that preserve the past.

But today there is even more reason for me to wonder out loud on the PhilCast about the project.

So now the significant cornerstone of the building has been lost?

People are free to take bricks from the site I guess, so maybe someone took the cornerstone by mistake?

Drag marks were found on the site, but no marker. Gone. Vanished.
Accident or intentional?

Either way, DUH.
Why would they leave the thing just laying among the rubble if it was that important?

I'll have the latest on the PhilCast today at 3:00.

Jose vs. Joe

Tuesday, Sep, 9 2014

Time after time he sent out resumes and left messages trying to get a job.

His name is Jose.

He says when he tried changing his name on his resume to Joe, that all changed.

Hmmm....there's no racism in corporate America, so how could this be true?

We'll discuss on the Tuesday PhilCast.

Meantime, CLICK HERE to watch his little video presentation on his experiment.

OH...and here's the Jesus in a pierogi picture for you.

Redskin logo not only in Washington

Monday, Sep, 8 2014

We all know about the controversy swirling around the NFL's Washington Redskins' team name and logo. Some think it's offensive and should be changed. Others feels it's tradition and that it should be left alone.

What I found interesting is the fact that the Sheboygan Co. Sheriff's Dept. uses almost an identical patch.
Take a look...

So have there been complaints about the patch like there have been complaints about the Redskins' logo?
Seems like we have a theme going here. No doubt they look very much alike. So where's the outcry in Sheboygan? Turns out, there was a real concern about this logo, but not in the way you might think. It's a fascinating story I'll talk about with the Sheboygan Co. Sheriff on the PhilCast on Monday in the 4:30 segment. Join us.
