Governor Walker signed three bills from the legislature’s lame-duck session today in Green Bay. He signed them in their entirety with no line-item vetoes.
Walker says there was a lot of unneeded hype and hysteria over the bills. He says Evers will still be one of the most powerful governors in the country.
Walker says Governor-elect Tony Evers will still have power when it comes to stability, transparency, and accountability.
The bills are about the spending of federal money on highway projects, eliminating the power of the Attorney General to appoint attorneys for state lawsuits and legal challenges, and giving the legislature power over requests for federal programs and waivers.
Critics call the bills a last-minute power grab by Republicans.
