Both elevators in the Yellow Ramp in downtown Appleton will be down for at least several weeks, after a weekend fire.
The parking ramp is at the corner of Morrison and Washington streets.
City spokesman Chad Doran says they hope to reopen one of them after six to eight weeks. But he says the other will be closed indefinitely. He says the fire caused a lot of damage to the elevator car and the system.
They’re the only two elevators in the ramp.
Doran says if people aren’t comfortable using the stairs, the Red and Green ramps have elevators.
There was also an elevator fire in the Green Ramp early Saturday morning. Doran says inspectors determined there was minimal damage, so both Green Ramp elevators are open.
Police are investigating the fires.
