The idea that 4-year college may not be the right future for everyone has taken a long time to catch on. But, based on the interest in youth apprenticeships in Northeast Wisconsin, that pace of change is picking up.
Jeff Knaus, business manager from Local 400, joined Steve Masanz, Kimberly High School Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator, and Jared Bardon, a Kimberly High School student participating in the Youth Apprenticeship program, to discuss how the program works and what a job in the skilled trades is really like.
