The World’s Largest Trivia contest is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The campus radio station at UW-Stevens Point hosts a 54-hour contest that starts at 6 p.m. today. It runs through midnight on Sunday night.
About 350 teams and thousands of people play every year.
Jim Olivia helps write the questions, and he says it’s much more than calling in the right answer. He believes it’s the food, lack of sleep, silly questions and silly answers are all a part of the experience.
When a radio deejay asks a question, teams have the length of two songs to call in their answer. There are eight questions an hour.
The contest is broadcast on the 90FM station website.
