Former Green Bay Packers General Manager Ted Thompson is revealing he’s suffering from a serious disease.
In a statement today, Thompson says he’s dealing with an autonomic disorder, and that’s why he’s not overseeing the team’s operations anymore.
The autonomic nervous system controls the involuntary actions of the body, like breathing and heartbeat. Issues can include high blood pressure and trouble swallowing.
Thompson adds that doctors don’t believe his issues are connected to CTE, a disease that develops from brain damage that’s been tied to playing football. Thompson had a 10-year NFL career.
