The leader of UW-Green Bay is leaving to become the president of the University of Akron in Ohio.
Chancellor Gary Miller will start his new job on October 1st.
UW-GB spokeswoman Janet Bonkowski believes Miller is leaving the university in a better place than he found it. She says Miller worked with staff to grow the school’s enrollment in each of the last four years.
She says he also worked with community partners to develop projects like the STEM Innovation Center that will open on campus within the next week.
The university’s administration will work with the UW System to appoint an interim leader. The UW System will handle the search for a new chancellor.
Miller started at UW-GB…in 2014.
