Public testimony in the House Impeachment Inquiry began this week with State Department veteran George Kent and career diplomat William Taylor. These men were chosen to go first for a reason, but it was what we didn’t know they would say that made big news after the first day of hearings.
Despite the bombshell from Taylor, the lack of new information limited the public interest in the hearings. Republicans consistently complained that these were not first-hand witnesses, that their testimony was merely hearsay. But Josh feels what he heard creates a clear picture of Presidential corruption.
The real question is whether the impeachment proceedings will diminish or improve President Trump’s chances of being reelected in 2020.
