A state lawmaker from Green Bay is going to retire at the end of the year.
Democratic Sen. Dave Hansen announced today that he won’t run for re-election this fall. He was first elected in the 30th district in 2000, and he’ll have spent 20 years in the Senate when he’s done.
Hansen says the Senior Care prescription drug program and the Silver Alert system are some of the things he’s most proud of. He also pointed to I-41 expansions and the Kress Event Center on the UW-Green Bay campus.
Hansen says it’s time to take a step back from politics, and spend more time with his family.
