Appleton police arrested a man for the murder of a three-year-old girl, and the stabbing of a 27-year-old pregnant woman.
Officer Meghan Cash says the woman and her unborn baby are both in stable condition.
Officers were called to an apartment in the 500 block of N. Kensington Drive around 9:30 last night. Officer Meghan Cash says the woman and the child were taken to a hospital. The woman had life-threatening injuries.
They say the suspect, 25-year-old Demetrius Williams of Appleton, was taken into custody at a nearby gas station.
Cash says Williams was dating the woman. He’s expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
An autopsy on the three-year-old girl is planned in Milwaukee tomorrow.
Cash says the department recognizes this is the third child death in a very short time, and the impact on the entire community is heartbreaking.
Kaukauna police are investigating the deaths of five-year-old William Beyer and three-year-old Danielle Beyer. They aren’t releasing any new information on the case.
