Before coronavirus started spreading around the country, Appleton International Airport was coming off the busiest February in history.
Almost 72,000 people used the airport last month, and that’s up 36 percent from a year earlier.
Airport spokesman Patrick Tracey says it’s been tough, since. He says they’re still running all of their flights, but their passenger numbers are about one-third of what they were expecting, without the virus.
Over the first two months of the year, passenger numbers were up about 25 percent from 2019.
