The head of a watchdog group is disappointed by a federal appeals court ruling on state voting laws.
Common Cause Executive Director Jay Heck says the Republican-appointed judges released the decision after three years. He says they’re limited early voting to no more than 14 days before Election Day. The ruling also means people have to live in the state for 28 days in order to vote, instead of 10.
Heck is happy the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled ruled expired student IDs can be used, under the voter I-D law.
Majority Republicans changed a number of election laws in recent years.
