Winnebago County is taking part in a pilot program to increase the amount of coronavirus testing in Wisconsin.
Health Director Doug Gieryn says a state grant funding will help cover the costs for providers to run more tests. He hopes they can add pharmacies and other non-hospital locations.
Gieryn has also asked the Wisconsin National Guard to set up a permanent testing site in Winnebago County. He reports the percentage of positive tests in the county has gone up, at the same time fewer people are getting tested.
