UW-Oshkosh leaders believe their testing and isolation strategy is helping slow the spread of coronavirus on campus.
Two weeks ago, 18 percent of tests were coming back positive. Late last week, the seven-day average was 4.9 percent.
Chancellor Andrew Leavitt says they’ve had a lot of students tested, and when they test positive, they have to isolate. He says they can do that at home, or the school’s quarantine facility.
UWO is testing each student in the dorms, every other week. The university is working with Prevea Health, and they can test up to 430 people a day.
There have been 605 cases on campus so far, and all but nine were students. There are 210 active cases.
