An Oshkosh West student believes that works for a WIAA tournament at Menominee Nation Arena should work for graduation day for Oshkosh Seniors.
The school district is following CDC COVID-19 guidelines that will limit graduation day seating to 1,500 people.
That’s about a quarter of the arena’s capacity of 4,000. Seniors like Liberty Mugerauer say that’s taking the family out of what should be a family celebration.
Mugerauer points out in an email to district officials that the WIAA boys tournament at the Menominee Nation Arena earlier this year was a sell out (at a reduced attendance limit of 1,400). The district, however, sent a letter to parents saying the limit of 1,500 people adopted earlier would remain in place.
