A federal grant will help expand the cemetery at the King Veterans Home in Waupaca County. The state is getting three-point-three million dollars from the U-S Department of Veterans Affairs. The money will be used to build 430 pre-placed crypts, a flag assembly area, a service shelter, and to improve irrigation on the grounds. The Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery opened in 1888. More than eight-thousand vets and their dependents are buried there–dating back to the Civil War.
