On Friday, August 13, 2021 at approximately 08:50 hrs., the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office responded to County Highway S, west of Hollow Rd., in the Town of Liberty, for a two vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car. During the investigation of the crash, it was determined a passenger car, operated by a 85 year old female from the New London area, entered onto County Highway S from a private driveway. The passenger car entered into the path of a semi-truck traveling east bound on County Highway S. The semi-truck, operated by a 36 year old male from Richland Center, Wisconsin, struck the passenger side of the car. The 85 year old female was airlifted from the crash scene by Theda Star to a local hospital due to critical injuries. County Highway S was closed between House Rd. and County Highway M for approximately 4 hours while the Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Hortonville First Responders, New London Fire Department, New London Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Gold Cross Ambulance, Theda Star and the Outagamie County Highway Department.
