The Fox Valley Metro Police Department has issued the following news release on the Friday afternoon lockdown of Little Chute schools:

Police Response to Little Chute School District
On Friday, October 8th, 2021, at approximately 1417 hours, Officers from the Fox Valley
Metro Police Department responded to Little Chute High School, 1402 Freedom Road,
Little Chute, WI for a suspicious person complaint.
It was reported by an anonymous source that an unknown person had placed packages
around the Little Chute school facility at 1402 Freedom Road just prior to school
releasing for the day. Additionally, an anonymous caller phoned the Fox Valley Metro
Police Department and reported there may be an act of violence at the school complex
upon release.
Law enforcement responded to Little Chute school facilities and performed a rapid
assessment. After conferring with LCASD administration, students were placed in a
secure hold of Little Chute High School, Little Middle School, Little Intermediate School,
Flex Academy and LCCPA. Out of precaution, Little Chute Elementary School was also
placed into a secure hold.
Law enforcement conducted a thorough search of the school property and did not locate
any suspicious packages or persons of interest. Working with school district
administration, students were released in a safe manner.
The Fox Valley Metro Police Department was assisted by the Wisconsin DNR, Appleton
Police Department, the Brown / Outagamie County Bomb Squad, Outagamie County
Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Grand Chute Police Department,
Kaukauna Police Department, and the Little Chute Fire Department.
