Last-minute changes are made to the proposed redistricting map in Appleton.
The city’s Redistricting Committee had previously given support to what was called “Map A” but ended up voting in favor of “Map D” this week. City Attorney Christopher Behrens says “A” would have had too many districts outside the ten percent population variance allowed by law.
The new redistricting map goes before the full Council next Wednesday.
