It was always a perfect match.
When Cindy and Geoff Hendren met on the dating website, Match.com 20 years ago, all of those perfect boxes checked off. Sense of humor? Check. A love of travel? Check.
Together they blended their families and are about to celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary in June. Geoff is the owner of Bon Voyage Boutique Travel in downtown Neenah.
It was a match of a different kind though, that would turn out to mean more than anyone could expect.
In early 2021, Cindy was in kidney failure due to hereditary disease. Geoff insisted on getting tested to see if they’d be a match.
Then in fall of 2021 Cindy found out her numbers had progressed and that she would need to go on dialysis.
“That same day, Geoff came in from work unexpectedly in the afternoon and said ‘I had to tell you this in person I just got a phone call. I’m a match. I’m a match for you,'” Cindy shared.
