Ukrainian-Americans in Northeast Wisconsin say one person is to blame for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. Valentyn Tereshchenko of Green Bay immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1990s. He says Putin does only what he pleases and even disregards his own advisers. Tereshchenko says that’s obvious in some of Putin’s motives for the invasion.
Tereshchenko does not believe Putin’s aggression will end with Ukraine. He fears the invasion of his homeland may just be the beginning.
Tereshchenko says his parents and his sister are ready to take up arms should Russian forces come to Bilyobillya where they’ve evacuated to, which is about 150-miles away from his home area of Kharkiv .
