The Oshkosh Area School District has a contractor to build the new Vel Phillips Middle School and the project is now within budget. Though, a key portion of the project has been cut. Project contractor Miron Construction and Bray Architects worked with the district to reduce costs. Those efforts resulted in the elimination of the proposed indoor track. Drew Nienhaus, the Executive Director of Business Services, told the board of education that reviews showed the indoor track’s cost put the middle school project over budget.
