WEST BEND, Wis. — Like vinyl records, record hops and eight track and cassette tapes, so goes a long time record store chain.
The Exclusive Company, which includes stores in Appleton, Oshkosh and Green Bay, is passing into history.
The company announced on its Facebook page the closure of all its stores after 56-years as independent, full-line record shops.
The decision follows the death of company found James Giombetti, also known as “Mr. G”. Giombetti was known for ending his television spots with the phrase: “Say it with me, The Exclusive Company.”
The company’s Facebook page goes on to say some stores will continue as independent, locally owned business, though it’s not saying where those locations will be.
