
MADISON, Wis. — Winnebago County has a new district attorney.
Eric Sparr, who has served as deputy district attorney in Winnebago County, is named to the post by Governor Tony Evers. Sparr takes over for Christian Gossett, who is stepping down effective May 7.
Sparr is an Oshkosh native who joined Winnebago County in 2005 as an assistant district attorney before becoming deputy district attorney in 2020.
Sparr will serve out the remainder of Gossett’s term, which ends in January 2025.
