OSHKOSH, Wis. — Two Oshkosh firefighter/paramedics received “The Stork Award” for a recent special delivery.
Earlier this year the firefighter/paramedic team of Paul Friday and Hunter Resop were called to respond to a woman in labor at home alone.
Soon after their arrival, Elijah Sanchez came into the world, and Oshkosh Fire says Elijah’s dad made it just in time to cut the cord.
“The Stork Award” is given to firefighters who deliver babies in places other than a hospital setting.
Monday morning the Sanchez family showed up at Station 15 to show their appreciation.
Oshkosh Fire Department public information officer John Holland says this is just another example of the excellent service our paramedics provide to the community.
