OSHKOSH, Wis–A new trial date is set for next year in the case of a former Oshkosh West High School student accused of stabbing a police officer. Grant Fuhrman will now be tried January 23rd in Winnebago County Court on one count of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide.
Fuhrman is accused of stabbing school resource officer Mike Wissink with a B-B-Q fork in Wissink’s office in December of 2019. Both were shot while struggling for Wissink’s gun.
Fuhrman was to stand trial last week, but his defense argued that recent school shooting incidents could influence the decision of a jury. Fuhrman faces up to 80-years in prison if convicted.
